DESCRIPTION
Calcium Peroxide occurs as a white or yellow powder or granular material. It decomposes in moist air, is practically insoluble in water, and dissolves in acids, forming hydrogen peroxide. A 1:100 aqueous slurry has a pH of about 12.
Function: Dough conditioner; oxidizing agent.

REQUIREMENTS
Identification: Cautiously dissolve 250 mg of sample in 5 mL of glacial acetic acid, and add a few drops of a saturated solution of potassium iodide. Iodine is liberated. Add 20 mL of water and sufficient sodium thiosulfate to remove the iodine color. The resulting solution gives positive tests for Calcium.
Assay: Not less than 60.0% of CaO2.
Fluoride: Not more than 0.005%.
Lead: Not more than 4 mg/kg.

Strontium peroxide is a white to off-white inorganic compound with the formula.
